while i was in the cathedral i noticed in the celing a bunch of faces that were shrouded in leaces pering down, it was almost as if they were trying to spy down on you without being seen so they used leaves as camoflage. my first inpresion of these faces was humour, i found them funny and i made the conection of them looking like the green man. ive always thout of the green man as a pagan figure to celibrate nature, spring and life so when i made the conection of seeing them in the cathedral i was suprised and confused, why is he in the cathedral? am i just making a random conection ? pr have i just been inturpreting him wrong? if i have then who is he? which culture dose he origonaly come from? are they just similar depictions of different things? what meaning dose he have in the cathedral? who is the oposit of the green man?

the questions about who he is kept on coming with a few answers coming to me vocaly from other people, mainly the idea that when the cathedral was being built the surounding people would have been pagans so to draw the crafts people into the work and pagan people into the building the cathedral adopted some of there symbols and figures then put there own meanings to them. i think this is a strong thery of what could have happend however this is somthing that a was vocaly told so i need to find a more solid sours to beleave it thouraly.

the fraze ‘green man’ wasnt used until Lady Raglan in March 1939 in an article wrote the ‘Folklore’ journal. before this gernal he was refered to in some form af leaf and head

the websites i have looked at during my wondering about his identity.
